In-house production of high quality Hybrid PLA/Graphene/Carbon Fiber filament
Continuously pursuing new and advanced materials for FFF 3D printing with improved mechanical/physical properties ADRINE developed a hybrid high quality thermoplastic filament for AM applications. Starting from raw PLA pellets and after controlled mixing with graphene nanoplatelets and chopped carbon fibers, the extruded material delivered accurate and consistent 3D FDM prints. The initial characterization of the material depicted a uniform dispersion of fillers and a commercial grade stability of the filament dimensions. Up to now, the new material can maintain a concentration of 10wt% in carbon fibers and 3wt% in graphene. More testing and formulation will follow soon in view of exploring the boundaries of this hybrid approach.

Development of modified UV resin w/ carbon fibers and DLP printing
The ongoing research in the field of advanced materials for additive manufacturing resulted in the in-house development of modified UV resin dopped with chopped carbon fibers. The initial aim is to formulate a thermosetting 3D printing material with enhanced properties in terms of mechanical as well as thermal or electrical behavior for tailored applications. After a long period of trials, ADRINE managed to demonstrate a stable UV resin mixture, which was used to print the first showcase components via DLP printing. Research is still ongoing and the next steps include trials with higher carbon fiber loadings, mechanical and physical property testing, as well as the development of a hybrid grade of UV resin by introducing additional nanomaterials.

ADRINE participates in the TRACES action under the INTERREG Greece-Italy program
Our company has been selected –among other entrepreneurs from the region of Western Greece- to participate in the ‘TRACES’ action under the INTERREG Greece-Italy EU project framework. The action will be carried out with Patra’s Science Park (PSP) acting as a local atelier, aiming to promote the activation of an accelerating program which will support small-medium enterprises (SMEs) in the field of ‘creative’ industry. The action will be hosted by the existing infrastructure of PSP.
