High quality graphene-enhanced DLP 3D printed nanocomposites using UV resin matrix
We showcase the fabrication of homogeneous, high resolution 3D printed graphene/UV resin nanocomposites with filler loadings up to 1.0 wt%. The composite material consists of DLP-compatible photosensitive resin mixed with industrial grade graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), which have a mean lateral size of 7.2μm and an average thickness of 3nm (5-10 layers of graphene). The challenge of effective mixing vis a vis the unwanted filler precipitation was tackled by extensive experimental trials in tandem with in-house techniques, that resulted to a stable raw material suitable for DLP 3D printing. This kind of materials have several potential applications that may i.e. require increased thermal conductivity, resistance to environmental aging, anti-pathogen properties, superlubricity, etc. Next goal, to overstep the concentration limit of 1.0wt%, retaining a printable formulation…
